United States Indo-Pacific Command
The United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) is a premier unified combatant command of the United States Armed Forces. It is charged with overseeing military operations in the crucial Indo-Pacific region. This strategically significant area extends from the waters of the western coast of the United States, across the Pacific Ocean, and reaches to the eastern coasts of Africa.
Responsibilities and Structure
USINDOPACOM commands a vast theater of operations that encompasses the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, including pivotal regions such as East Asia and Southeast Asia. The command aligns with several regional alliances and partnerships, including those with NATO partners in the Indo-Pacific Four, which consists of South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
