New Pantai Expressway
The New Pantai Expressway (NPE) is a major controlled-access highway located in the Klang Valley region of Peninsular Malaysia. Known by its designation E10, it provides a vital transportation link facilitating the movement of people and goods across this densely populated and economically significant area.
The New Pantai Expressway extends through several key regions, linking Subang Jaya, Sunway, and Pantai Dalam, and providing seamless connectivity to major thoroughfares such as the Federal Highway. This strategic corridor bypasses heavily congested areas, thus alleviating traffic bottlenecks and providing an alternative route for commuters and logistics operations.
The NPE begins at Jalan Bangsar and traverses several important zones like Jalan Pantai Baharu, Pantai Dalam, and Jalan Kuchai Lama, making it a crucial artery in the urban transport network of Greater Kuala Lumpur. It interfaces with other significant highways including the East–West Link Expressway, Shah Alam Expressway, and the Kuala Lumpur–Seremban Expressway.
The expressway significantly enhances accessibility to various urban and suburban districts, boosting commercial and residential development. Regions such as Bangsar, Desa Petaling, and Lembah Pantai benefit from improved connectivity, leading to increased real estate value and business opportunities. The presence of the NPE has fostered rapid urbanization in areas like Pantai Hillpark and Pantai Baru.
Pantai Dalam, a locality with robust public transport links, is well-connected to other parts of Kuala Lumpur via the NPE, facilitating efficient commuter movement. The expressway also supports the transit needs of the vibrant commercial and shopping hubs, such as the Sunway Pyramid.
The construction and maintenance of the New Pantai Expressway are overseen by New Pantai Expressway Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of IJM Corporation. This entity ensures that the infrastructure is kept up to modern standards, providing a safe and efficient route for daily commuters and transport vehicles.
Ongoing and future expansions in the Klang Valley's expressway network, such as the Setiawangsa–Pantai Expressway, are expected to further enhance the region’s transport infrastructure. These developments will complement the NPE, increasing its strategic importance and reinforcing its role in the integrated expressway system of Malaysia.
