Carey Island (Malay: Pulau Carey) is an intriguing island located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It is situated within the administrative boundaries of Zone 17 under the jurisdiction of the Kuala Langat Municipal Council. This island is famed for its lush natural environment and its cultural significance to the indigenous Mah Meri people, one of the 18 indigenous tribes of Peninsular Malaysia.

Carey Islands in Greenland

Interestingly, the name "Carey Island" is not unique to Malaysia. There is also an island group known as the Carey Islands located in the Avannaata municipality, northwest Greenland, off Baffin Bay. These islands, known in Danish as "Carey Øer" and in Greenlandic as "Kitsissut," are largely uninhabited and are part of the Arctic region, characterized by extreme climatic conditions and unique wildlife.
