Delta IV Heavy and the United Launch Alliance

The Delta IV Heavy is an expendable launch vehicle and part of the broader Delta IV family of rockets. It is one of the most powerful heavy-lift launch systems developed by the United Launch Alliance, a joint venture formed by Lockheed Martin Space and Boeing Defense in December 2006. The Delta IV Heavy made its debut on November 21, 2004, and was operational until its final scheduled flight in April 2024.

Design and Capabilities

The Delta IV Heavy is renowned for its impressive payload capacity, designed to lift the heaviest payloads into geosynchronous orbits and beyond Earth orbit.
