The Tri-Cities is an informal grouping of three adjacent suburban cities in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada. This dynamic area consists of the cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody. Together, they form a significant suburban region within the Metro Vancouver Regional District.

Geography and Urban Structure

The Tri-Cities are situated to the east of Vancouver and are flanked by the Fraser River to the south and the Coquitlam River that runs through the area. Transportation

Transportation within the Tri-Cities is robust, facilitated by the Evergreen Extension of the Millennium Line on the SkyTrain network. This extension, completed on December 2, 2016, connects Lougheed Town Centre in Burnaby to the Tri-Cities, featuring six stations that enhance accessibility. The extension terminates at Lafarge Lake–Douglas station in Coquitlam, which is a central hub for commuters.
