Tenpin bowling is a popular form of bowling, a target sport where the player rolls a bowling ball down a lane to knock over pins. The Game Structure
In tenpin bowling, the objective is to knock down all ten pins, which are arranged in a triangular formation at the end of the lane. The lane itself is made from either wood or synthetic materials, designed to enhance the smooth and controlled roll of the ball. Each game is divided into ten frames, with each frame allowing the bowler two opportunities to knock down the pins, except in the tenth frame where a bowler can roll a third ball if they achieve a strike or spare.
Scoring
Scoring in tenpin bowling is cumulative, with points awarded for the number of pins knocked down, as well as bonuses for strikes and spares. A strike, when all ten pins are knocked down with the first roll, gives the bowler ten points plus the number of pins knocked down in the next two rolls. A spare, achieved by knocking down all remaining pins with the second roll, awards ten points plus the number of pins knocked down on the bowler's next roll.
