Queen Camilla, born Camilla Rosemary Shand on 17 July 1947, serves as the Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms as the wife of King Charles III. Her journey to the throne is notable for its unique transitions through the British monarchy, laden with historical and social significance.
Camilla was born into an aristocratic family in London, the daughter of Major Bruce Shand and Rosalind Cubitt. Her early education took place at Dumbrells School in Sussex and Queen's Gate School in South Kensington. Prior to her royal duties, Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles, an officer in the British Army, in 1973. The couple had two children, Tom and Laura Parker Bowles, who were raised in the Catholic faith of their father, reflecting the blended religious influences within their family.
