Prophecy in Christianity

Prophecy is a significant aspect of Christianity, serving as a bridge between the divine and humanity. Christian eschatology is heavily influenced by biblical prophecy, particularly the apocalyptic visions found in the Book of Revelation and the Olivet Discourse as recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

The Prophecy of the Popes

A notable non-biblical prophecy within Christianity is the Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, an Irish saint and seer. This prophecy lists a series of 112 future popes, culminating in a final pontiff who would preside over the end times.

Modern Prophetic Movements

In contemporary Christianity, prophecy continues to play a role in certain movements such as the New Apostolic Reformation and the Church of God of Prophecy. These movements often emphasize the ongoing nature of prophecy and rely on modern-day prophets for spiritual guidance and revelation.
