Lrt Shah Alam Line
The LRT Shah Alam Line, initially known as the LRT Bandar Utama–Klang Line, is a prominent addition to the public transportation network in Malaysia. This line is currently under development and will serve as a crucial transportation artery, particularly enhancing connectivity within the Klang Valley region.
The Shah Alam Line represents a strategic effort to alleviate traffic congestion and provide a sustainable transportation solution for the rapidly growing urban areas within the state of Selangor. This line is set to link various key areas, including the bustling city of Shah Alam, the state capital of Selangor, and the economic hub of Klang.
The line will feature several pivotal stations that will serve as interchange points and destinations for commuters:
Glenmarie LRT Station: This station, already operational under the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, will function as an interchange with the Shah Alam Line, facilitating seamless connectivity for passengers.
Subang Alam LRT Station: Located in the suburb of Subang Alam within Shah Alam, this station is strategically positioned to connect residential and commercial areas.
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station: Serving the Section 13 suburb of Shah Alam, this station will be instrumental for sports enthusiasts and residents in the vicinity.
UiTM Shah Alam LRT Station: This station will cater to the student population and staff of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and surrounding areas.
Johan Setia LRT Station: As the southern terminus of the Shah Alam Line, Johan Setia will be a key hub, further linking to other transportation modes.
Emphasizing modern technology and infrastructure, the Shah Alam Line aims to provide a fully automated and efficient transit service. This approach will mirror the successful integration of automation seen in the Kelana Jaya Line, which has set benchmarks within the region for driverless rail systems.
The completion of the Shah Alam Line is poised to foster urban development, reducing reliance on personal vehicles and promoting the use of public transit. This will not only ease traffic congestion but also contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions from road traffic.
Expected to be operational by 2025, the Shah Alam Line is anticipated to be a game-changer in the public transportation landscape of Selangor, enhancing the quality of life for residents and supporting economic growth by improving access to business districts, educational institutions, and residential areas.
