Jenni Rivera
Dolores Janney "Jenni" Rivera (July 2, 1969 – December 9, 2012) was a renowned American singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman, and producer known for her significant contributions to the Regional Mexican music genre, particularly in the styles of Banda and Norteño. Her influence in the music industry was profound, leading her to be named the "top Latin artist of 2013" by Billboard.
Jenni Rivera was born in Long Beach, California into a family deeply rooted in music. She was the daughter of Pedro Rivera and Rosa Saavedra. Her siblings include Lupillo Rivera, Juan Rivera, and Rosie Rivera, who also pursued careers in music and entertainment. Her eldest daughter Chiquis Rivera followed in her footsteps, becoming a successful singer and television personality.
Jenni Rivera began her music career in 1993, signing with Balboa Records before moving to Sony Music in the late 1990s.
