Ipad Mini 2

iPad Mini 2

The iPad Mini 2, officially known as the iPad Mini 2 with Retina display, is a tablet computer designed and marketed by Apple Inc.. It represents the second generation of the iPad Mini series, providing users with a unique combination of portability and high-performance features.

Design and Features

The design of the iPad Mini 2 closely resembles its predecessor, the first-generation iPad Mini. However, it stands out with significant internal enhancements. Notably, the device is equipped with an A7 system-on-a-chip and features a high-resolution 2,048 x 1,536 Retina Display. This places it in the same league as its sibling device, the first-generation iPad Air.

The iPad Mini 2 was available in two colors: space gray and silver. It initially ran on iOS 7.0.3, although cellular models were released with iOS 7.

Release and Discontinuation

The iPad Mini 2 was announced during an Apple keynote at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on October 22, 2013. The event carried the theme "We still have a lot to cover." The device was released a day later on October 23, 2013.

Despite its initial success and popularity, the iPad Mini 2 was discontinued on March 21, 2017. This discontinuation coincided with the announcement of the 2017 iPad and the discontinuation of the iPad Air 2. Nonetheless, the iPad Mini 2 continued to receive major software updates even after it was no longer sold through Apple.
