Department of Education

The Department of Education is focused on the educational policies and programs from early childhood through to higher education. It was restructured as of July 2022 to enhance educational outcomes and manage funding.

Administrative Arrangements Orders

The structure and formation of Australian Government departments can be altered by an Administrative Arrangements Order. These orders are issued by the Governor-General of Australia on the recommendation of the Prime Minister. For instance, on 18 September 2013, a notable order was issued by then Prime Minister Tony Abbott which re-confirmed and formed various departments.
