Episcopal High School, located in Alexandria, Virginia, is a distinguished private, co-educational boarding school with a rich history dating back to 1839. Established by the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, it holds the distinction of being the first high school in Virginia. The school's founding was intertwined with the Virginia Theological Seminary, sharing governance through a board of trustees appointed by the Diocese. In 1854, both institutions were incorporated under the name "Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary and High School in Virginia."

In addition, the girls' teams participate in the Independent School League (ISL), where they have won 41 championships since 1993. Notably, in 2010, the school won its first-ever ISL tournament championship in field hockey.
