Enhanced Avionics System Easy
The Enhanced Avionics System (EASy) is an advanced avionics suite integrated into the cockpit display systems of Dassault Falcon business jets, renowned for enhancing pilot situational awareness and flight planning capabilities. This sophisticated system was initially introduced in 2002 on the Falcon 900EX and has since become a hallmark in various other Falcon models, such as the Falcon 2000EX and Falcon 7X.
EASy was jointly developed by Dassault Aviation and Honeywell International Inc., based on the Honeywell Primus Epic platform. It integrates the concept of Integrated Modular Avionics, leveraging Modular Avionics Units (MAUs) to provide a versatile, efficient, and robust avionics solution. The core operating system for EASy is provided by DDCI, enhancing the system's reliability and performance.
EASy was a groundbreaking development in flight deck technology, integrating numerous functionalities into a cohesive system, thereby reducing pilot workload and enhancing safety. Its modular design allows for future upgrades, ensuring long-term viability.
Certified on the Falcon 900LX in June 2011 and on the Falcon 7X in May 2013, EASy Phase II introduced several enhancements, including a new Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS). This system analyzes the aircraft's trajectory and Takeoff and Landing Data (TOLD) to ascertain if the aircraft can safely stop within the remaining runway length, providing pilots with early alerts and improving safety during approaches and go-arounds.
EASy stands as a testament to the advances in avionics technology, reflecting the continuous evolution of cockpit systems in enhancing safety and efficiency in modern aviation.
