The Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE), designated as E33, is a significant expressway located in the Klang Valley, Malaysia. Development and Structure
The Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway was developed to address the growing transportation needs of the Klang Valley, an area known for its dense population and economic significance. Construction of the expressway began in late 2005, and the project was partially opened on January 9, 2009, by the then Minister of Works, Ir Mohd Zin Mohamed.
The expressway spans 18 kilometers (11 miles) and includes critical interchanges such as the Jalan Duta Interchange and the Jalan Kuching Interchange. These interchanges help facilitate connectivity with other significant routes like the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), benefiting commuters traveling within Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings.
Connectivity
The DUKE Expressway is designed to integrate seamlessly with other major highways, further enhancing its importance in the Malaysian Expressway System. It connects with the Sungai Besi–Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) and the Setiawangsa–Pantai Expressway, which was previously known as DUKE Phase 3.
