The Directorate of Operations (DO) is a critical component of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), responsible for conducting clandestine and covert operations across the globe. The Directorate was known as the DDP until 1973; as the Directorate of Operations from 1973 to 2004; and as the National Clandestine Service (NCS) from 2004 to 2015.
