Ostensive Definitions

Ostensive definitions define a term by pointing to examples. This type of definition is often used for teaching new vocabulary to children or for explaining abstract concepts.

Theoretical Definitions

Theoretical definitions aim to provide a deeper understanding of the nature of the term by embedding it within a larger theoretical framework. For example, defining "water" as H₂O ties the concept to the theory of chemistry.

Dimensions
