Bmw 5 Series G30
The BMW 5 Series G30 is the seventh generation of the BMW 5 Series, an executive car manufactured by BMW. The G30, available as both a sedan and a wagon (known as the G31 Touring), was produced between 2016 and 2023. The G30 is noted for its emphasis on refined design, advanced technology, and enhanced performance, continuing the legacy of the prestigious 5 Series lineup.
The design of the BMW 5 Series G30 was led by Karim Habib as the Head of Design. The interior design was crafted by Daniel Mayerle, focusing on luxury and functionality. Its design was officially unveiled on October 12, 2016, before making a public debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2017.
Compared to its predecessor, the BMW 5 Series (F10), the G30 introduced several technological advancements:
The G30 is equipped with gesture control, multi-contour massage seats, and a Driving Assistant Plus package, which includes lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane centralizing and vehicle following systems, and a collision warning system.
The G30's engine lineup was completely revamped, incorporating twin-turbocharging for all diesel engines and optimized direct injection for petrol engines. The hybrid models are enhanced with a 48-volt system, adding 8 kW (11 hp) to the total engine output. Notably, the BMW M550i model is equipped with the same engine used in the M850i.
Production of the G30 commenced in November 2016 at the BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in Germany. Additionally, all long-wheelbase versions are produced at the BMW Brilliance Automotive factory in the Dadong district of Shenyang, China.
To promote the G30 5 Series, BMW produced a short action film titled "The Escape," featuring a BMW 540i M Sport. This marketing effort highlighted the performance and luxury attributes of the G30 model.
The G30 shares its platform with several other BMW models, including:
The BMW 5 Series G30 was succeeded by the BMW 5 Series (G60), marking the eighth generation of this esteemed lineup.
