Bernard Stiegler (1 April 1952 – 5 August 2020) was a prominent French philosopher known for his exploration of the relationship between technology and human society. He had a profound influence on contemporary thought, especially in the realms of media, culture, and technology. Stiegler served as the head of the Institut de recherche et d'innovation, which he founded in 2006 at the Centre Georges-Pompidou. He also established the political and cultural group Ars Industrialis in 2005.
