Airport East Station
Airport East Station is an interchange station located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. It serves as a part of the Shenzhen Metro, specifically on Line 1 and Line 12.
Originally, Airport East Station was strategically built to serve the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. However, following the closure of Terminals A and B and the subsequent opening of Terminal 3 in November 2013, the station ceased to serve the airport directly. This shift marked a significant transition in the station's role within the city's transport infrastructure.
Before its reconfiguration, the station was connected to the airport via bus number M417. With the re-routing of air traffic to Terminal 3, bus M417 was suspended. Limited service is now provided by bus M5. For airport access, passengers are encouraged to use the Airport Station on Line 11, allowing direct access to the new terminal.
The design of Airport East Station reflects the modern urban landscape of Shenzhen, aligning with the city's rapid development and expansion. As an interchange station, it facilitates the seamless transfer of passengers between two major metro lines, enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of the public transport system in Shenzhen.
This comprehensive layout of Airport East Station underscores its integral role in facilitating urban mobility in one of China's most dynamic cities, showcasing a blend of historical transformation and modern connectivity.
