In President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's second term, from 2009 to 2014, it rebranded as the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, with cultural responsibilities being transferred to the Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2014, during President Joko Widodo's administration, the ministry was given its current title. Concurrently, the creative economy portfolio was separated to form the Creative Economy Agency.
