Michelle Rowland
Michelle Anne Rowland is an Australian politician and lawyer, born on 16 November 1971 in Blacktown, Sydney. She is affiliated with the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and has played a significant role in Australian politics. Michelle Rowland has represented the Division of Greenway in the House of Representatives since 2010. As of May 2025, she serves as the Attorney-General of Australia in the second Albanese ministry.

Michelle Rowland was raised in Seven Hills, a suburb of Sydney. Her mother is Fijian, though she does not possess dual citizenship due to the legal constraints of the Fijian constitution at the time of her birth, which did not allow citizenship to be passed maternally. She attended Our Lady of Mercy College in Parramatta and pursued higher education at the University of Sydney.

In the 2010 Australian federal election, Michelle Rowland secured the seat of Greenway for the Labor Party, following an electoral redistribution in 2009 that favored Labor with a margin of 5.7 points. The seat was previously held by Liberal Louise Markus, who contested the seat of Macquarie in that election.
