Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education

The Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), initially known as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, is a prominent private educational institution in India. Located in Krishnankoil, it lies approximately 65 kilometers south of Madurai and 10 kilometers north of Srivilliputhur, along the Madurai-Shenkottah National Highway (NH208).

History

KARE was established in 1984 by the Kalasalingam Anandam Ammal Charities. The founder, Kalvi vallal Thiru T. Kalasalingam, was a visionary in the field of education. The institution gained the status of a deemed university in 2006, reflecting its commitment to providing high-quality education and research opportunities. In November 2017, following a directive by the University Grants Commission (UGC), it was renamed to its current designation to drop the "University" from its name.
