Mass Rapid Transit Kajang Line

The Mass Rapid Transit Kajang Line, previously known as the MRT Sungai Buloh–Kajang Line, is a significant component of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System in Malaysia. It serves as a major transportation artery within the Klang Valley, a region that includes the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur, and surrounding areas.

The Kajang Line is part of the broader Rapid KL system operated by Prasarana Malaysia. This line connects the northwestern sector of the Klang Valley with the southeastern region, encompassing a total distance of approximately 51 kilometers. The line features 31 stations, beginning at Kwasa Damansara and culminating at Kajang, a town located in the Hulu Langat District, Selangor.

Development and Expansion

The Kajang Line was developed as part of the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley plan to enhance public transportation and reduce traffic congestion. Construction began in 2011, with the line opening in two phases. Phase One, from Sungai Buloh to Semantan, opened in December 2016, while Phase Two, extending from Semantan to Kajang, became operational in July 2017.
