Contemporary fire hoses are made using a combination of natural and synthetic fabrics and elastomers. This modern construction allows hoses to be stored wet without the risk of rotting and provides resistance against the damaging effects of sunlight and chemicals. Types of Fire Hoses

    • Percolating Hose: Primarily used in fighting forest fires, these hoses allow some water to seep through the fabric to keep the exterior wet and less susceptible to burning.
    • Non-Percolating Hose: These are designed to keep all the water contained within the hose.
