The Canada Line is a vital component of the SkyTrain rapid transit system located in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This line is distinguishable on transit maps by its turquoise color and serves as both a commuter rail and an airport rail link. It facilitates connectivity between Vancouver, Richmond, and the Vancouver International Airport, commonly abbreviated as YVR.
History and Development
The Canada Line officially opened on August 17, 2009, ahead of the 2010 Winter Olympics, marking a significant expansion in the region's public transportation network. The project was undertaken by InTransitBC, a public-private partnership, and the line is operated by ProTrans BC. The line's introduction was aimed at accommodating 100,000 daily boardings by 2013 and 142,000 by 2021. Remarkably, it has consistently surpassed these projections.

Spanning 19.2 kilometers (11.9 miles), the Canada Line features a total of 16 stations. The main line stretches from Vancouver to Richmond, while a 4-kilometer (2.5-mile) spur branches from Bridgeport Station to the Vancouver International Airport.
