Bruce Beresford

Bruce Beresford (/ˈbɛrɪsfərd/; born 16 August 1940) is a renowned Australian film director, opera director, screenwriter, and producer. With a career spanning over five decades, Beresford became a pivotal figure during the Australian New Wave cinema movement and has directed more than 30 feature films across both Australia and the United States.

Beresford's career took off with films like Breaker Morant (1980), a courtroom drama based on the true story of the trial of three Australian soldiers during the Second Boer War.
