Tramvia Blau
Tramvia Blau is a heritage streetcar line that operates as one of the three tram systems in Barcelona. This line is operated by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), although it is not part of the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) network and thus does not integrate its fare system with other public transport services in the metropolitan area. Trambaix
The Trambaix system connects the Baix Llobregat area with the city of Barcelona and comprises three routes: T1, T2, and T3. These lines begin at Plaça Francesc Macià, located to the west of the city center, and extend westward through municipalities such as L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despí, Sant Just Desvern, and Consell Comarcal in Sant Feliu de Llobregat. This system is integrated into the ATM network, allowing seamless fare transitions with other public transportation options.
Trambesòs
Trambesòs is another significant component of the tram network, consisting of three routes: T4, T5, and T6. It connects the district of Sant Martí in Barcelona with the municipalities of Badalona and Sant Adrià de Besòs. The name "Trambesòs" is a fusion of the Catalan word "tramvia" (tram) and "Besòs," the name of a prominent area in northern Barcelonès dominated by the Besòs River. Like Trambaix, Trambesòs is also operated by the TramMet company and is fare-integrated with the ATM network.
Operation and Management
The tram systems in Barcelona are managed by TramMet, a company established in 1999 to operate the Trambaix and Trambesòs lines. The Trambaix network was inaugurated on April 3, 2004, marking a new era in Barcelona's tram transit solutions.
